Every Wednesday I leave my pups on their cushy dog beds with a treat and a bowl full of food so I can head out the door with my camera.
I'm not away for long, the shelter is 20 minutes from my house. I spend about thirty minutes photographing the dogs and cats at Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter. The drive home is always filled with thoughts about those dogs and cats and how much I liked one or two of them, and could we maybe have another dog, and would that one cat like my dogs at home... When I get home I squeeze my dogs extra tight and then begin editing my photos to help create ads for the shelter.
This one dog though. Cole. He was the sweetest! I didn't get to play with him, but I like to believe I have this sixth sense with animals. I can always pick out the super lovable ones. I'm sure he has some bulldog in him because he reminded me so much of Gus. <3 I took pictures of him that day and was told they weren't sure about his health. His ribs were showing and he had some other issues. It was heartbreaking, but I know Kings Harvest will do all they can to get him back to good health and find a loving home.
I thought he might not like me at first, but he was wagging his tail in no time.
Love the cute ear flip he has goin' on!
As much as I want to bring this guy home (three isn't too many, right?!), I will instead be donating to his care. <3
